Life gets so busy sometimes. We have had a lot of sickness already this fall, Aaron is constantly in the middle of a home project, and my to do list seems to grow substantially each week as I neglect to check anything off of it. But if we aren't intentional about getting outside, we seem to always find something else to occupy our time. So this past weekend we decided to try to catch the Kokanee spawning up at Odell Lake. Although we only saw a handful of Kokanee, our little day trip did not disappoint.

You guys, do you ever find yourself in a situation where you feel so small? I mean, look at that picture! My dear friend Stephenie took this amazing picture and I can assure you that as stunning as it is, it does not do God's great creation justice. Oregon is an absolute wonder, there's no doubt about that. We have already had snow this October, so it was fun to be able to dress ourselves in snow gear and explore outdoors!

We were hoping to see thousands of Kokanee spawning in the creek, but really only saw a handful. It was still so interesting to see though! And even more fascinating to see were all of the bald eagles. They come to feast on all of the spawning Kokanee this time of year.

What a privilege to be surrounded by this kind of beauty! It was such a great opportunity for learning. The girls had tons of questions and collected all sorts of treasures. The world really is our classroom, so for this I'll say yes to school on a Saturday any weekend.
